The Mount Laurel Library has a collection of board games that you can check out. Borrow a game and bring it home to play with friends or family. Here are the games we have in our collection:

Azul: Queen's Garden

Agricola.jpgAgricola Agricola is a turn-based strategic farm building game. You are a farmer, and together with your spouse you need to build a farm from scratch, hopefully a successful one, and feed your growing family. Over the course of 14 rounds build the best farm with buildings, crops, and animals. Whoever earns the most Victory Points, and thus has created the superior farm, wins the game.

For Ages 12+
For 1-5 players

 

Carcassone.jpgCarcassone Build roads, kingdoms, and churches using tiles. In Carcassone, take turns with other players placing your tiles to match the landscape that is being created. Compete to place your meeples (tokens) on roads, kingdoms, or churches to earn points. Whoever earns the most points at the end wins.

Catan.jpgCatan Compete against your fellow players for resources to build your settlement on the island of Catan. The first player to earn 10 points wins the game.

Catan 25th Anniversary Edition.jpgCatan (25th Anniversary Edition) This edition of the classic Catan includes the same gamplay, but some added features. Now, play with a larger group of friends or family members with the 5-6 player expansion. This edition also includes the HELPERS expansion, which adds an additional element of gameplay with 10 Helper cards.

disney codenames 2.jpgDisney Codenames Get your teammates to guess the correct cards using only one word. The team that guesses all of their cards wins! Each card has an image from a classic Disney movie.

Disney Villainous.jpgDisney Villainous Take on the role of a Disney villain and complete your own villainous objective first to win the game. Choose from playing as the Queen of Hearts, Captain Hook, Jafar, Maleficent, Prince John, or Ursula. Use your own game board and cards to complete your individual objective. Of course, you can also work against your fellow villains to prevent them from achieving their goals. Play a different villain each time you play to experience the game in a new way.

Dixit.jpgDixit This is a fun game of creativity and trickery with beautifully illustrated cards. Each round the new storyteller chooses a word or short phrase to describe the card they will be playing face down. Everyone else plays a card face down that matches that phrase or word. Then everyone must guess which card they think the storyteller played. If you guess correctly, everyone but the storyteller advances. But guess wrong, and the storyteller advances. Trick the other players into picking your card instead, and you advance.

For 3-8 players
For ages 8+

Dominion.jpgDominion Dominion is a deckbuilding board game. Each player starts out with the same exact small deck of cards. Through each of their choices throughout the game, players add different cards to their deck to create their own unique ‘dominion’. The player with the highest number of victory points at the end of the game wins. Dominion has a wide variety of starter decks and card options, so no two games will be alike.

Ticket to Ride First Journey Ticket to Ride First Journey is a simpler version of the original Ticket to Ride game, great for families with young children. “Climb aboard and embark on your very own North American railway adventure! Collect train cards, claim routes on the map, and try to connect the cities shown on your tickets to achieve victory.”

2-4 Players

Trekking the National Parks.pngTrekking the National Parks Travel the United States to visit as many national parks as you can. Earn points for camping at certain parks, collecting park cards, and being the first player to visit a particular park. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.

Place ‘wake’ tiles on the board to navigate the ocean, preferably safely. However, place the wrong tile that forces you off of the board or encounter a sea monster and you have lost.

Wingspan.jpgWingspan Attract the most varied birds by creating the best wildlife preserve. The person with the most points at the end of 4 rounds wins.

Yeti in My Spaghetti.jpgYeti in My Spaghetti Yeti is sitting on top of a bowl of spaghetti. Each player takes turns removing one spaghetti noodle from the bowl. The player who pulls the spaghetti noodle that drops Yeti into the bowl loses.
