When does the Library Board of Trustees meet?
Meetings are the 3rd Wednesday of each month. The public is welcome.
Does the library take book donations?
The Friends of the Library accept book donations year-round in the wire baskets found at the right end of the circulation desk.
Please see the Friends page for types of books the library can accept.
We receive many donations over the year and thank each and every one of you who donate your gently read books which enable the Friends to raise much needed funds for the library. Please visit the Friends Corner Book Sale which is open year-round in the library and purchase someone else's "gently read books."
Does the library have a computer access policy?

Yes, the Board of Trustees of the Mount Laurel Library believes that it is the basic right of every individual to read what he or she wishes without fear of censure or legal consequence. It also affirms the right of every person to privacy.

Why can’t I download software on the library’s computers so I can read my document or view my pictures?
For security and space issues, personal software may not be downloaded on public computers.

Borrowing Information
Who can get a library card?
Free library cards are available to all residents of Mount Laurel, as well as those who own property, or attend K-12 school in the township.
- For proof of residency you will need either a driver's license, automobile registration, or a letter that has been mailed to you. No business cards.
- For proof of property owned you will need a tax bill as well as proof of your current home address.
- For proof of school attendance you will need your school I.D.
Library cards are issued to residents from birth. Application forms must be co-signed by a parent or legal guardian for customers under the age of 18.
Ask for a registration form at the Circulation Desk.
Library cards are also available for purchase as follows:
Non residents who work in Mount Laurel may purchase a "Works in Mount Laurel" Library card for an annual fee of $45.
Non residents may purchase a library card for $90 a year.
A PC only library card may be purchased for $35 a year. Or, for a limited time, the same card is being offered for $5 for every 30 days.

Library card renewals
All library cards are renewed yearly. When your library card needs to be renewed, please bring proof of residency or employment in Mount Laurel to renew your card.

- There is a limit of 50 total items that can be borrowed at one time
- Items on hold for another customer cannot be renewed.

- Loan period is 1 week for regular DVDs; 3 days for popular DVDs.
- Overdue fines are $1.00 per day
- DVDs can be renewed for one week if there is not a request on the item.

- CDs:
- Loan period is 3 weeks

How do I renew, reserve or check the status of an item in my account?
- Go into the library catalog and click on the tab labeled My Account.
- Enter your library card number (from the back of your card) and your pin.
- Click on Items Out to check on items that you have borrowed and/or to renew them. Click Hold Requests to check on the status of an item you have put on hold or to cancel a hold request.
- Click on Profile to view your address and phone number and/or to change your email address or pin.
Renewals are also available through your online account or by calling telecirc 856-234-5019. You can also check what hold items are waiting on the holds shelf for you through the telecirc system.
If I forget my card, can I still check out a book?
To make things quick and easy, please try to remember to bring your card. If you forget your card, you may still check out materials but you will need to show identification. There is a fee of $5.00 for a replacement card.
Can I use my Mount Laurel Library card to borrow materials from the Burlington County Library?
The library laws of New Jersey dictate that only those residents who do not have a public library in their towns are eligible for free borrower cards from their county library. Because Mount Laurel has its own library, residents of the township must pay a fee for a Burlington County Library card. Please see the Burlington County Library FAQ Website for information.
Can I return books when the Library is closed?
For your convenience, the Library book drop is available when the Library is closed.
It is located to the right of the entrance. You may return ANY and ALL materials in the book drop when the library is closed.
Do you keep a list of your DVDs?
We do not keep a printed list of our DVDs. Please use the catalog to search and browse our collection.
How do I search for DVDs ?
Searching for DVDs is the same as searching for books. They are listed in the catalog and can be found by typing DVD in the Subject search box. This will bring up ALL of our DVDs, so having a title is often helpful.
How do I search for Playaways in the library catalog?
To find all the Playaways in our catalog, simply type Playaway in the "title, subject, author" search box.
How do I search for Video Games in the library catalog?
To find all the Video Games in our catalog, type video games in the "title, subject, author" search box. You can then limit your results by console type, by selecting your console type in the tan box on the right.

Services
Does the library have a copy machine?
The library has two self-service copy machines for public use. Copies are $.15 each.
Does the library offer fax or scanning services?
The library does have a self-service scanner in two locations. Instructions for their use are with the scanners.
There is a self-service public fax machine for sending only. You must use a credit card or debit card to send faxes.
Does the library have a shredder?
The library does have a self-service shredder. It is located in the copier room.
Does the Library have Internet access or computers with word processing programs?
Yes. The Internet is available on 20 or more computers throughout the Library; these computers also have Microsoft Word and Excel, Access, Frontpage, Powerpoint and Publisher. There is no charge for access. However a library card is required to use or reserve a computer. A limited number of Express Computers are available for 15 minute non-reserved sessions which do not require a library card. To check our Computer Policies, click here.

Does the library provide proctoring services?
Yes, the library does provide this service for library card holders. Please read the proctoring policy before contacting the library to ensure our services meet your institution's needs. Can I bring my wireless laptop to access the Internet in the library?

I want to type a resume. Is there a program at the library that can help me?
Microsoft Word has a section entitled Resume Wizard that includes resume templates. To access it, go into Microsoft Word
- On the File menu, click New.
- Click the Other Documents tab.
- Double-click Résumé Wizard.
- Follow the steps in the wizard.
