Black History Month Reading Contest
Southern Burlington County NAACP and Mount Laurel Library are pleased to announce a new literacy initiative that celebrates the rich heritage, contributions, and accomplishments of African Americans.
Thirty-nine children in grades K-4 participated in the first annual reading contest for Black History Month. They read 439 books and wrote 69 reviews. Each child who participated will receive a reading certifcate and bookmark. The grand prize winner is Emma Hinchliffe, grade 3, who has won a Kindle Fire loaded with a selected ebook, courtesy of Southern Burlington County NAACP!
